Renee Jensen

ABOUT RENEE

Renee was admitted to legal practice in 1998 after completing a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws at the University of Newcastle.  She went on to obtain a Gradutae Diploma in Military Law, a Master of Laws from the Australian National University and later completed a Master of Applied Law in Family Law through the College of Law.

Renee served as a permanent Legal Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force for 20 years, advising on a wide range of matters including military justice, operations law, administrative inquiries and international legal frameworks.  She deployed to the Middle East in 2003 and 2004 and held senior advisory positions across multiple Defence commands.  Renee now continues to serve as a Reserve Legal Officer, providing her expertise on a multitude of military matters including inquiries, disciplinary processes and administrative actions.

In addition to her military legal work, Renee has held legal and compliance roles across the pharmaceutical and medical industries, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, internal investigations and child protection.  Her recent roles have included leading youth protection and complaints management at Scouts NSW, and compliance roles at Alcon Laboratories and Allergan Aesthetics.

Renee brings to the firm a wealth of experience in handling many types of matters underpinned by a calm and pragmatic approach.  She has a particular interest in supporting clients through complex and sensitive matters.

Renee also has experience in neurodivergent parties and children, particularly where autism spectrum disorder and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are relevant considerations.  She understands that separation and parenting disputes can present additional challenges for neurodivergent individuals and families, particularly where communication styles, support needs and day to day routines require careful consideration.

Drawing on both professional experience and lived understanding, Renee supports families with clarity, structure and sensitivity.  She has experience with neurodiverse children and works closely with medical and allied health professionals where appropriate enabling her to help clients navigate parenting arrangements and related disputes in a way that remains focused on the best interests of the child.
